karambit

Became more common in recent decades as a unique and different form of knife. They are available both as fixed blade knives and folding knives. The unique thing about the karambit is the shape of the blade, which ranges from slightly to very curved to almost claw-like.

Originally it comes from Indonesia and Malaysia, where it is used primarily by farmers to harvest crops, for which the curved blade is incredibly suitable. Karambit has several different names including Kerambit, Kurambik, Karambol or Karambiak.

Despite its humble origins, it has gained much of its recognition as a weapon in games and movies, and is also successfully used as a weapon of last resort in its countries of origin. Today, the model is mostly used in Filipino martial arts.

The models that we see most commonly in the West also have, in addition to the curved blade, a finger ring at the end of the handle. This gives a very firm grip and the ability to let the knife hang from one finger while you use your hand for other things.

The karambit is extremely popular among collectors as it is so unique from other knives. We don't sell anything with the intention of it being used for violence, but for that reason, believe that they don't have a practical use even today - especially for gardening and small chores. Small varieties with fine tips are suitable for sewing and slicing, while others can be usefully used for peeling fruit. For everyone to decide how it is best used of course.

They are available with a variety of blade shapes, handles and steel where only the imagination seems to set the limits. With us, you will always find a large selection of these knives in stock.
