9×19mm Parabellum (also called 9×19mm Luger and 9×19mm NATO) is a cartridge designed by Georg Luger introduced in 1902 by the German arms manufacturer Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken(DWM). The first weapon to use it was the Luger P08 pistol. For this reason, the cartridge is often referred to as 9mm Luger, which can be compared to 9mm Makarov and 9mm Browning
Today it is used for a large number of different weapons, including the German H&K MP5 and Glock 17, and the Israeli Uzi. It is used by the Swedish Armed Forces under the name 9mm M/39
